POSITION PURPOSE
The Quality Assurance Inspector is directly responsible to the Chief Inspector for the performance of assigned quality control and quality assurance functions within the repair station.
The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for making physical quality control checks of in-process and completed aircraft maintenance or repairs, auditing and updating work orders and aircraft records, and updating aircraft compliance in the maintenance tracking system.
The Quality Assurance Inspector ensures that FAA regulations, air-carrier requirements, manufacturers’ recommendations, contractual obligations, and company policies are adhered to by all teams, programs, and departments for which assigned.

The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The work environment is often not temperature/humidity controlled. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hours may vary but typical hours are Monday – Friday 8am-4:30pm with opportunity for overtime.

This position may require occasional travel. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Perform physical inspection of in-process and completed aircraft maintenance and repair work for airworthiness, compliance with FAA regulations, and conformity to manufacturers’ documentation.
- Perform aircraft records audits for compliance with manufacturers’ inspection and service life schedules.
- Perform secondary work scope review of work order quotes. Ensure that all quotes work packs are up to date with manufactures Master Servicing Manual and Airworthiness Limitation Section.
- Audit in-process work order squawk resolutions for compliance with FAA regulations and established company policies.
- Collaborate with and support the Airframe Services Production Manager, Airframe Services Avionics Program Manager, and Engine Services Program Manager for the efficient return to service of aircraft and engines.
- Perform on going audits of consumables and parts both in the production area. Ensure that all consumable materials are stored in a climate appropriate area and all items are within expiration limits. - Perform on going audits of calibrated tools and equipment needing annual inspections.
- Identify areas on the shop floor that need improvement with workflow and shop floor organization. Report findings to the Director of Services & Director of Quality.
- Identify tool and inventory needs.
- Provide hands on training to the technicians on the shop floor.
- Provide technical assistance to technicians on the shop floor.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide mentorship and coaching to technicians and use the opportunity as a confirmation mechanism of your own understanding of those competencies.
- Coach technicians in navigating maintenance manuals, safety management system (SMS) event reporting, online safety data sheets (SDS), and the FAA website. Promote and enforce the use of these resources amongst peers.
- Coach technicians in quality assurance, quality control and safe work practices. Identify, report, and correct quality deviations.
- Ensure that the facilities occupied by maintenance personnel, including rented and short-term facilities, are kept safe, clean, and orderly.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Maintenance proficiency with at least one of the following aircraft models; Airbus EC120, AS350 (H125), EC130 (H130), Airbus EC135 (H135), Airbus BK117 (H145), Bell 429, 430, 407, 206, Leonardo 109, or MD 500.
- Clean & valid driver’s license
- Proficient in MS Office with previous MRO software system experience
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and FAA regulated drug/alcohol tests prior to start.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- FAA Mechanic Certificate with airframe & powerplant ratings (A&P)
