GENERAL LABORER/PAINT PREP
Advanced Helicopter Services is a medium sized full-service helicopter facility headquartered in Northern California. We provide worldwide around the clock service and support. POSITION PURPOSE
The General Laborer/Paint Prep performs a variety of tasks under direct and indirect supervision of management or other experienced employees. These tasks may include performing body work, maintaining equipment/tools, keeping the facility clean and organized and assisting the crew to meet work order deadlines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, hazardous materials, and moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The work environment is often not temperature/humidity controlled. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to bend, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Personal protective equipment PPE) is required. Working on foot for hours at a time.

This is a full-time, hourly position. Standard business hours, typically Monday-Friday, but may have occasional OT as needed evenings/weekends.

- Perform body work, taping, masking, preparation to include sanding/stripping of aircraft.
- Maintain premises of the shop facility in a clean and organized manner to include janitorial job duties.
- Maintain equipment, tools and facility in serviceable and working condition.
- Meet all job/Work Order deadlines, communicating to supervisor/manager when circumstances may prevent on-time completion.
- Assure proper information is shared i.e. job timelines, shop issues, parts delays, and change orders.
- Responsible for staying on task from beginning to end under tedious conditions.
- Additional job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience and knowledge operating power tools like sanders, electric hand tools, etc.
- Willingness to learn a new trade if you don’t have previous experience.
- Must have strong work habits and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a shop environment that is not temperature controlled.
- Ability to do mundane or repetitive tasks, but desire to learn and take on new tasks.
- Must be able to clear pre-employment DMV, criminal background check and DOT drug screening.
- 1-3 years’ increasing experience in preparation of transportation vehicles for painting.
- Understanding and experience with aviation.
- Experience with composites and aluminum.
