POSITION PURPOSE
The Training Program Manager develops, maintains and delivers comprehensive instruction and hands-on training aspiring aviation maintenance technicians in our Apprenticeship Program. Applies expertise and industry experience to educate apprentice technicians on rotorcraft systems, maintenance procedures, regulatory compliance, and safety protocols, preparing them for successful careers in the field.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Research, plan, organize, and conduct comprehensive training programs, seminars, and conferences to develop the skills of apprentice aircraft maintenance technicians.
- Serve as the lead instructor responsible for the technical day to day training activities or act as the training coordinator when courses are outsources to training partners.
- Develop and distribute instructional materials, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids to optimize the learning experience.
- Coordinate and complete the physical setup for training sessions including reserving training location(s) and reservation(s), as necessary.
- Engage with management, supervisors, and employees to understand training requirements aligned with work situations.
- Collaborate with other departments to deliver specialized training programs based on their requests.
- Ensure timely completion of all required documentation and follow-up activities including updating current training records.
- Keep training courses up to date with the latest technical publications and Federal Aviation Regulations, track training hours and On-the-Job-Training (OJT).
- Schedule, test, and certify technicians’ competencies on relevant aircraft maintenance procedures, ensuring a high level of competency.
- Ensure that apprentice technicians have all the required knowledge and skills required to achieve FAA airframe and powerplant mechanic certification under 14 CFR § 65 Subpart D.
- Participate in community outreach.
- Work to keep training and personal expenses within appropriate levels.
- Additional job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A&P Certificate under 14 CFR § 65.81, 65.85 and 65.87
- Thorough understanding of FAA regulations, technical manuals, and industry standards governing aircraft maintenance and operations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience as a technical trainer or educator.
- Previous experience in rotorcraft.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical documents, safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly exposed to office noises (i.e., office machines, conversations, foot traffic). Also, may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Full-time or part-time, non-exempt. Overtime and weekend availability as needed. This position reports to the worksite daily.
TRAVEL
This position may require occasional travel. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.
