POSITION PURPOSE
The Accounting Assistant is responsible for assisting the Accounting department by maintaining accurate and organized records for the organization. Reports directly to the Accounting Manager.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly exposed to office noises (i.e., office machines, conversations, foot traffic). Also, may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee spends majority of time sitting. Occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Full-time, non-exempt position. This is a daily onsite position. Work schedule is 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday- Friday. Must be available for occasional overtime.

No travel expectation for this position.

- Answers phones and direct calls.
- Sorts, date stamps and delivers mail.
- Prepares shipping documents for contract billing.
- Opens monthly work orders (WOs)
- Mails documents weekly.
- Maintains filing system for accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R).
- Shreds deposited checks from 3 months back.
- Enters new customers & vendors to QuickBooks and Corridor.
- Helps other departments with Accounting issues.
- Processes and codes shipping invoices for accounts payable.
- Bills and prepares all sales orders for invoicing.
- Backs up to Airframe and Engine billing and invoicing.
- Bills back shipping charges to internally and externally customers.
- Processes expense reports as required.
- Backup delegate for expense reporting.
- Assists Accounting department as needed.
- Additional job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Must be extremely detail orientated with numerical reasoning skills.
- Organizational skills to achieve timely progress on multiple tasks with a high level of productivity and accuracy.
- Ability to calculate figures.
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Write simple correspondence and effectively present information to customers, and other employees of the organization.
