Position Purpose
The LUH Tool Specialist reports directly to the Quality Assurance Program Manager and is responsible for managing the Defense Services Program. This role ensures compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer guidelines, contractual obligations, and company policies across assigned teams and departments.
The LUH Tool Specialist makes routine operational decisions but escalates strategic or cross-functional matters to the Quality Assurance Program Manager.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The work environment is often not temperature/humidity controlled. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Non-Exempt, full-time. Onsite, Monday – Friday with overtime as needed. After hours support and occasional weekend Aircraft on ground (AOG) support.

Contract Logistics Support (CLS) Airbus
- Manages the day-to-day functions of the CLS Tools Program.
- Complies with annual and monthly CLS Tools Program contractual reporting requirements.
- Develops, implements, and revises CLS Tools Program processes.
- Inspects, maintains, and repairs CLS Tools Program tools.
- Creates and revises CLS Tools Program work card instructions.
- Provides CLS Tools Program calibration recall support.
- Manages defense tool inventory in support of annual inventory and audit reporting requirements.
Contract Logistics Support (CLS) Other
- Manages the day-to-day functions and logistical support of miscellaneous defense services contracts.
- Opens and provides start to finish management of all aspects of the CLS Yulista, DSS, and others Corridor/SharePoint work orders.
- Contributes to future bid proposals as requested by management.
- Other CLS supporting services as requested by management.
Tool Management
- Repackages tools, builds custom tool kits, services and repairs tools and tool shipping containers.
- Regularly services, cleans, repairs and performs calibrations on all tools managed through the LUH tool crib. Includes inspecting tool returns and processing broken tools.
- Cleans tools. Occasional need to use chemicals like acetone and isopropyl alcohol.
- Generates daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Process Daily Airwaybill report and the Tool return reports due weekly.
- Acts as a point of contact for questions regarding tool returns, order tracking and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) movement.
- Direct and constant communication with internal and external customers and vendors. Quotes, orders, part procurement, real-time status updates for work orders, creates shipping requests and provides shipment tracking information to customers.
- Obtains and evaluates all relevant information to handle product and service inquiries within 24 hours of initial request.
- Organizes work areas including south hangar, shipping area, and receiving dock.
Logistics Resource Person
- Provides instruction to logistics department personnel or historical perspectives pertaining to logistics department processes and functioning as requested by the Quality Assurance Program Manager.
- Stand-in labor support, as requested by the Quality Assurance Program Manager, to cover any logistics personnel absences or during times of high demand.
- Backup for shipping and receiving specialist.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities of the logistics department.
- Additional job-related duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and processes.
- Communication Proficiency – Numeric, oral, & written language skills – fluent in English required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to obtain forklift and Hazmat shipping certification within 6 months.
- Clean & valid driver’s license.
- Must be eligible for DOD clearance.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug test prior to start.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
Preferred Qualification
- Part 145 repair station or aviation industry experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety and EPA Hazmat regulations.
- International export shipping experience.
- Microsoft SharePoint
- Experience with AS9110 principles & practices
